I’ve been promising this tutorial for the longest time. I have two (now three) pairs of these beautiful twisted wire heart, chandelier earrings and I wear them all the time. This project is a ‘rinse and repeat’ type of project which you just do the same techniques six times. The techniques I used to make these earrings are wire wrapped loops and opening jump rings. That’s it.
If you’ve never done made wire wrapped loops before, check out this video which explains all about how to use this technique.
Materials
Here’s the materials you need to make these earrings:
- Tibetan Silver Heart with Five Loops x2
- Red 12mm Acrylic Faceted Round Beads x 6
- Silver 11x9mm Heart Charms x 6
- Stainless Steel 8mm Jump Rings x 2
- Silver 19mm Twist Ear Hooks x 1 pair
- Silver 5cm Eyepins x 6
Tools
The tool set I’m using in the video is the 6 Piece Chroma Plier Set. It’s so very cool.
Instructions
Please watch the video or read the instructions below.
Make the Dangle
Using the chain nose pliers, open the loop of the eyepin. You can watch this video if you don’t know how to do that.
Feed on the heart charm and close the loop.
Next feed one of the beads onto the eyepin.
Make a wire wrapped loop, threading the loop onto the centre loop of the heart before you close it and complete the wraps.
You might want to watch this video about how to make a wire wrapped loop.
Repeat this process until you have another two dangles to the outermost loops of the heart.
Attaching the Ear Hook
Open the 8mm jump ring and feed on the top loop of the heart as well as the loop of the ear hook. Close the loop.
Make Another One
Repeat all of the above steps to make the second earring.
I really hope that you enjoyed this super quick project. The first time I made these earrings it was because I was going out and discovered I had no earrings to wear with my outfit. It literally was 10 minutes before I was due to walk about the door. I love that about jewellery making – it’s so quick and easy that you can have a pair of earrings or necklace for every single outfit and every single occasion.
